We’re excited to share the current schedule for the 2024 Capilano University Teaching and Learning Symposium from April 24-26, 2024. In addition to our inspiring keynotes and guest speaker, we’ve got an amazing line-up of more than 50 colleagues, sharing valuable teaching and learning insights in workshops, world cafes, panels and seeding sessions.

Looking for new ways to assess students? Chris Ladner will be talking about Flexible Assessments and Majid Raha will be showing an example of Authentic Assessments using a Hackathon method at Thursdays World Cafe at 1pm. Mary Giovanetti and Bettina Boyle will also be there to talk about Reimagining Grading with a Faculty Learning Community. 

Wondering how to use AI in the classroom? Torin McLachlan’s Grading AI Wednesday at 11:30am and Alan Jenks’ Teaching with AI at 2pm will give you some pointers. Sara Reyes and Caitlin Matthews will be showing us how to use AI generated personalities in a game of Clue to teach Data Literacy at the World Cafe on Friday at 9:15am and Mokhtar Tabari will be talking about Integrating AI in Economics Education at the World Cafe on Thursday at 1pm.
