It’s that time of year again. The summer sun feels just a little less intense, the crickets are out in the evening, and the need to eat as much corn, fresh berries, and watermelon is very real.  Yes, autumn is approaching and for many of us, this also signals the time when we begin preparing our courses for the 2025/26 academic year.

The Centre for Teaching Excellence has prepared several resources to support you during this transition, especially as we continue to navigate Generative AI and its impacts on teaching and learning.

For your syllabi and course sites, we have recently (May 2025) updated our suggested language with several options to support your class guidelines.

To support you to use or not use AI in assessments using clear, common language, we have added the AI Assessment Scale to our website along with an explanation and examples.

To help you begin discussions with your students, we have added materials including a slide deck and facilitation guide for a short lesson that you can adapt to fit your needs and classroom guidelines.

For your students, we have updated our Student Guide to Generative AI at CapU and encourage you to share it with them.

These resources will continue to be updated, and we welcome your feedback on them.  For further support with these resources and navigating the use of GenAI, please connect with us! We’re available for customized workshops for your department, supporting working groups and learning communities, and one-on-one consultations.
