PebblePad
PebblePad is an integrated platform for logging and evidencing achievements, experiences and skills currently being piloted at CapU. It can be used in many flexible ways to help students plan, record, reflect and evidence their learning including:
- Creating portfolios
- Recording and reflecting on field work
- Recording and reflecting on work integrated learning experiences
- Completing assignments
- Reflecting on a learning journey
PebblePad is a ‘learning journey software’ that integrates teaching, learning, and assessment that brings folio-thinking to life. It is now integrated with eLearn to allow for a linking of assignments and grades between the two platforms.

Members of the CTE have been engaged for the past year in piloting this software with programs such as the new Environment and Society degree, the Rehab Assistants program and the Educational Assistants program. Now that PebblePad has been integrated with Moodle/eLearn, we are ready to slowly roll out use of the software to other programs and locations.
Interested in exploring this for your students?
If you’re interested in using PebblePad, but folio-thinking (i.e. reflective, integrative
and developmental learning) is not yet embedded into your course or program curriculum, we ask that you first meet with an Educational Developer by booking a consultation here or by contacting cte@capilanou.ca . Folio-thinking is truly the first step to successful implementation.
If your program or course is already using folio-thinking with another ePortfolio tool such as Google Sites or WordPress, please book a consultation with the Learning and Instructional Design Specialist by booking a consultation here or emailing marywatt2@capilanou.ca. They will provide an introduction to the software, course design considerations, and connections to the Educational Technology team for further training and onboarding supports.
