eLearn

Capilano University uses eLearn (Moodle) as its online learning management system for online and mixed-mode courses as well as to supplement face-to-face courses. To access your eLearn course shell, sign in to eLearn at https://elearn.capu.ca. Your courses will appear on your Dashboard.

These course shells are hidden from students by default while instructors add their course materials, import material from previous courses and build their online course presence. You can also hide specific contents or sections that are still in development as your course begins.

Students and assigned instructors are automatically enrolled in the course. Students may be added or dropped as the course moves towards its start date and even into the first weeks of the course.

Start by importing your course contents, set up your gradebook and add your assignments to your course.

If you are new to Moodle, look for Faculty Introduction to eLearn, a self-paced resource in eLearn to help you navigate this learning environment in your Dashboard. A similar resource exists for students who are enrolled in a site called Student Introduction to eLearn

Faculty Help is available at the top of your eLearn page and also covers a wide range of information. This Teachers Quick Guide will give you a basic introduction to Moodle.

If you would like more support, send us an email at edtech@capilanou.ca or book a consultation with an Educational Technology Specialist in the CTE.
