Teaching and Learning Design Strategies

Teaching and Learning Design Strategies

As educators, our understanding and practices of teaching and learning are always evolving. Here are a few of the practices that are fundamental to our approach:

Academic Integrity

We are committed to supporting processes that promote honesty, trust, fairness, respect and responsibility.

Active Learning

Active learning activities provide students with the opportunity to check their comprehension of material, to practice a skill, or to collaborate with other students to make connections to the material through their shared understanding and knowledge.

Assessment Design

Think of this process as designing backwards: Learning outcomes direct the assessment design, which in turn direct the design of activities.

Envision Your Course as a Community of Inquiry

In addition to fostering opportunities for student engagement with course content, with each other, and with you, a Community of Inquiry is key to students’ experiencing a sense of belonging and success in the course.
