Centre for Teaching Excellence

Who We Are

At the Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) at Capilano University, we are a dedicated team of educational professionals committed to enhancing pedagogical practices within the University. CTE members play a key role in championing innovative teaching and learning and serve as a central resource for faculty, building capacity by providing resources and support on evidence- and equity-based educational practices through consultation and facilitation.

We support the digital learning experience by empowering faculty and students to integrate and adopt educational technologies. We are passionate about educational excellence, innovation, and inclusion. Together, we’re committed to a culture of continuous improvement, offering an array of programs such as the CapU Certificate in University Teaching and Learning, Instructional Skills Workshop, faculty learning communities, individual consultations, curriculum design, teaching with technology, and an annual Teaching and Learning Symposium. Throughout the year we connect with hundreds of faculty members, supporting innovative and effective teaching practices.

The Centre is located in Fir 402 and provides both in person and online support to a broad range of faculty across the campus. Check out our website for more information about upcoming workshops and programs.
