Microaggressions, Trigger Warnings, and the Inclusive Learning Environment

Participants will be:

1. Introduced to the concept of “safe space” within learning contexts.
2. Discuss how safety is experienced and perceived within learning relationships.
3. Introduced to the concept of microaggressions.
4. Introduced to the concepts of triggers.
5. Discuss how microaggressions operate within social relationships.
6. Discuss how microaggressions can influence learning relationships.
7. Discuss how trigger “warnings” in course material can be reflective of your learning relationship with students.
