Mary Watt (she/her)
An experienced and engaged instructional designer, instructor, project manager and educational technology strategist, Mary brings more than 20 years of experience in the field including a wide variety of innovative projects supporting and developing blended and flexible learning programs. She spent 12 years helping to build educational museum exhibits for all ages before going back to school for an M.Ed. specializing in technology enhanced learning. She also spent three years teaching undergraduate online courses for the Department of Curriculum and Instruction in the Faculty of Education at the University of Victoria.
Since 2021 she has been bringing her expertise to a wide range of technology-enhanced projects in the Centre for Teaching Excellence, including innovative projects in outdoor, hyflex and multimedia learning and the development of Open Access Textbooks.
Outside of work, she spends time with family and friends exploring this astonishingly beautiful part of the world, hiking, sea kayaking and skiing. Her kids have been trying to get her on a snowboard, but let’s just say results have been mixed.
