DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n\n\n\n\nExplore unique strategies to prevent gender-based sexual violence and foster a culture of sexual agency and community of care.\n\n\n\nFostering Sexual Agency and Consent Culture within the CapU Community: A Briefing for Faculty and Staff\nThursday\, January 15\, 2026 from 9:30AM-11:00AM \nLocated in Library Building\, room 322 \nJoin special guest\, Dr. Jason Laker\, as he explores transformative actions needed to address the causes and effects of sexual harrassment\, coercion\, and violence in post-seondary. \nTogether\, we will workshop strategies to employ at CapU to advance the programs\, policies\, and practices in service of ending gender-based violence and fostering a culture of sexual agency and community care. \nKey Learnings: \n\nOverview of critical issues and students’ beliefs about sexual consent.\nUnderstand the conflicts between policy expectations and students’ actual lived experiences\nGain ideas for building students’ capacity for empowered sexual consent or refusal.
