The daughter of a hereditary chief and Indigenous leader\, she always knew that she would seek leadership roles and responsibilities. As a lawyer\, an advocate\, and a leader among Canada’s Indigenous Peoples\, she’s built a strong reputation as a bridge builder and champion of good governance and accountability. She shares her unique perspective as both a community and political leader on topics such as Indigenous rights and reconciliation\, democracy and governance\, leadership\, and justice. \n  \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				  \nFriday\, May 3\, 2024 \n  \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Denise Amyot  \n \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				  \nDenise Amyot has garnered a wealth of experience in a number of varied leadership positions from non-profit organization\, to federal and territorial governments to para-public sector leadership positions: in the largest national organization of post-secondary institutions (Colleges and Institutes) with 150 employees\, in a federal Crown Corporation (Canada Science and Technology Museums/Ingenium)\, in several federal government departments (Treasury Board\, Human Resources and Social Development\, Natural Resources\, Public Service Commission\, Indigenous and Northern Affairs\, Canadian Heritage\, Solicitor General\, National Defense\, Secretary of State)\, as an administrator in the Department of Education in the Northwest Territories and as a teacher in Quebec and Ontario and Yellowknife.
