SETTL 2025: Symposium on Emerging Technology in Teaching and Learning

Taking place on May 9, 2025, at the KPU Richmond campus, the inaugural SETTL 2025: Symposium on Emerging Technology in Teaching and Learning is designed to bring together educators, administrators, and thought leaders to explore the transformative potential of technology in education. This year’s theme focuses on use of Generative AI in academia. Hosted by KPU, this symposium aims to provide a collaborative environment where participants can share insights, experiences, and strategies for responsibly leveraging Generative AI technologies within academic environments.

 

We invite scholars, educators, and administrators to submit proposals for presentations, workshops, and panel discussions. Submissions should focus on data-driven practices and evidence-based approaches to integrating Generative AI in higher education. We welcome contributions that highlight innovative applications, case studies, and research findings. SETTL 2025 seeks to illuminate the multifaceted applications of Generative AI across various domains of higher education, including:

 

  1. Designing learning
  2. Student-initiated use
  3. Course management applications
  4. Research augmentation
  5. Accessibility and inclusion
  6. Disciplinary-specific applications
  7. Organizational strategies and considerations
  8. Future possibilities/social implications

 

Submission Guidelines:

  • Proposals should be no more than 300 words (does not include references).
  • Brief biography of presenter(s).
  • Deadline for proposals: February 26, 2025
