Decades of research demonstrate that well-designed multimedia increases retention, engagement, and long-term information encoding. The research emphasizes “well-designed” multimedia for a reason – design choices matter.
This workshop explores both research-based design principles and practical applications for building multimedia and interactivity for learning and incorporating them into your assignments, using accessible, inexpensive tools. By the workshop’s conclusion, you will have created several multimedia and interactive learning objects and developed a strategic plan for their effective implementation in your teaching.
